Instructions for use

The Help Generator is implemented as an add-in, not as stand alone program. After installation:

• Open Excel
• Open the Excel file  you want to make help and documentation for
• On the menu: Tools > Help Generator > New Project.

Note: in Excel 2007 you will find the Help Generator under Add-Ins. You will probably get the message "SetCurrentSourceProject: 1004 - Programmatic access to Visual Basic Project is not trusted". To get past this,

• 1. right-clicktoolbar, Customize Quick Access toolbar
• 2. In Excel Options dialog, select Trust Center
• 3. Click Trust Center Settings
• 4. Check Trust access to the VBA project object model

Important Notes

• To be able to compile the help project to a CHM file MS HTML Help Workshop has to be installed.
