Where can I find the generated files
The files are stored in a folder you selected during the wizard session. The default location is a subfolder CHM below your application's project folder. An easy way to open the folder when you are in the Help Editor is menu: File > Open Help folder.
My project no longer shows up in the list of projects to open
It should know it still. Anyway, you can open an existing help project in the help editor:
- Menu: Tools > Add-ins > Generator > Help Editor
- In the dialog slecte 'Existing Project'
- Select 'More Files...'
- In the Open dialog browse to the folder which has the project and select the HGP file in it.
Where can I find information on working with MS HTML Help Workshop
Our software uses the MS HTML Help Workshop compiler, but it's further use should not bother you, unless you have very specific requirements. Primary source of info of course is the workshop's help file. Another good source is Help Technology centre
Can I use your product for a quick start and then use a different product for fine-tuning?
Yes - though we believe the help editor included is very useful.
Will the finished HELP file work on web sites?
The generated HTML pages and their images can be published to a website.
Why do I get an `Insufficient Memory` error?
It seems that one of Microsoft's updates to Windows XP causes this
problem. In every case, causing Windows to install all the latest updates has
fixed the problem. You can start the "Windows Update" process by visiting
this Microsoft web page:

I get the help but without the entries on the right window
Microsoft released a security patch that makes it impossible to view CHM files that are stored on a network drive (as opposed to CHM files stored on your own computer). The help file will appear, but instead of the topic text you will see an error message "this page cannot be displayed". A list of workarounds that involve changing the registry is given at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896054. The easiest is to download and run one of the following reg files to make the required registry changes:
