Managing the Index
The index is one of the most important ways to get users quickly to the
information they need. Users click a keyword listed in the index and it either
takes them directly to the topic containing the information they are looking
for, or to a list of topics that contain the keyword.
Managing the Index is supported in two ways:
- When creating new topic pages, it pays to directly drop selected texts onto
the Index Entries on Page dockable
window. This window restricts the view on the index to the keywords for the
active document. It also supports deleting and renaming entries in a very
direct way.
- When finalizing the help project, you can see and manage the complete index
of your help project from the Index
dockable window.
