Using other HTML editors

The built in Help editor has been tuned specially for the task of making HTML help. Features available which are absent from a normal HTML editor are:

• editing contents tree
• editing index
• recompile help
• export to word

However certain features you may want are not (yet) implemented and are a reason to at times work from a standard HTML editor such as FrontPage.

• tables with column size
• changing hotspots
• upload to a website

It is no problem at all to switch working between your favorite HTML Editor and the Help editor. Make sure however to save work done in one before moving to the other. 

Editing in FrontPage

To use FrontPage for editing a help generator project simply:

1. Open FrontPage
2. File > New Web
3. Empty Web
4. Specify web folder =  the help generator project folder
